TEKsystems is partnering with an award winning technology integrator in the Columbus/New Albany, OH area looking to hire a team of Cable Technicians on a W2 Contract to Hire with full information below. JOB DUTIES * Pull, dress, and label cabling (Cat5e/Cat6) according to TIA/EIA standards * Begin RJ45 connector and patch panel terminations with guidance * Assist in labeling and cable identification * Learn and perform basic punch-downs for telecom blocks * Support cable testing using basic tools (Fluke, EXFO) under supervision * Gain exposure to fiber cable dressing and basic handling * Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment * Take direction from lead technicians and supervisors ENVIRONMENT/REQUIREMENTS * The standard work environment for this position is an indoors business office and construction environment. * Ability to use a computer and/or hand tools while sitting or standing for extended periods of time. * The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. * Required to sit, talk or hear, use hands, stoop, kneel, bend, rotate, push, pull, reach with hands and arms on an intermittent to regular basis daily. * Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. * Carry and climb ladders to 20 feet. * May be required to work in tight, confided spaces. * Demonstrate regular and on-time attendance. There could be a requirement of occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required.
