You will join a highly skilled team of developers and experts in fluid mechanics and heat transfer and under the guidance of a technical leader specializing in metal casting. The team works collaboratively with product managers, product owners, validation engineers, and technical support to bring innovative simulation features to life. About the Role

As a Developer in Numerical Simulation Software for Metal Casting, you will contribute to the enhancement of software dedicated to casting processes. Your role focuses on designing and implementing new FEM and FVM based simulation features and models for thermal, flow, free-surface, radiation, stress, and casting defects. You'll play a critical role in ensuring the tool's precision and industrial applicability.


Responsibilities

The Numerical Simulations Software Developer - Metal Casting is a specialist of numerical methods, especially the Finite Element Method (FEM) with a good understanding of the fundamental physics of fluid flow, heat transfer, and stress analysis with responsibilities that include:

  • Develop advanced simulation features for metal casting processes.
  • Implement thermal, fluid flow, free-surface modeling, stress analysis, numerical schemes, and FEM capabilities.
  • Maintain and debug existing codebases (C, C++).
  • Collaborate with technical support to resolve customer issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams including product management and validation.
  • Contribute to continuous performance optimization and software robustness.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Mechanical Engineering or allied engineering discipline with a focus on numerical simulation.
  • Industrial experience developing FEM and FVM software.
  • Strong expertise in fluid mechanics, FEM, numerical methods, and Thermal modeling.
  • Proficient in C/C++ programming.
  • Fluent in English

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in High-Performance Computing (HPC).
  • Familiarity with MPI (Message Passing Interface).
  • Practical knowledge or exposure to metal casting processes.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML especially as related to numerical simulations
  • Autonomous work style and strong team spirit are highly valued.

The level of role will be based on applicable experience, education and skills; Most offers will be between the minimum and the midpoint of the Salary Range listed below.

CA pay range: MIN $106,320- MAX $177,190

Note: For other locations, pay ranges will vary by region
