Job Description
The ideal candidate will be located near our Jasper, IN headquarters and work primarily from this location, or, located near one of the other Kimball International showroom locations.
High Level Purpose of the Role:
To deliver hands-on, in-market training and coaching that equips Kimball International Sales Teams and Dealer Sales Teams with the skills and tools needed to succeed in their specific regions.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Sales Trainer works directly with sales teams in the field to deliver hands-on training, coaching, and performance support. Tailors programs to regional needs and ensures adoption of best practices.
Field-Based Training
- Conduct training sessions tailored to regional needs at Kimball International showrooms, Dealer showrooms or other central locations that support the particular Sales team.
- HNI Allsteel Hoshin Social Collab portfolio selling training - tailored as appropriate
- Partner with Senior Sales Trainer and Design Trainer to create & deliver Monthly Product Webinars for Field Sales Band and Dealerships.
- Deliver practical, scenario-based learning experiences for Sales Representatives.
- Establish and manage process to welcome and engage with Dealer Sales Representatives upon Dealer Portal Registration
Program Customization
- Adapt corporate training programs to fit local market conditions and challenges.
- Ensure alignment with overall sales strategy while addressing regional nuances.
Coaching & Development
- Provide one-on-one and group coaching during training sessions.
- Offer real-time feedback to improve selling techniques and customer engagement.
Performance Monitoring
- Track adoption of CRM tool (Salesforce), processes, and best practices in the field.
- Report training outcomes and identify areas for improvement.
Collaboration
- Partner with Sales Leaders to identify skill gaps and training priorities.
- Act as a liaison between field teams and the Vertical Markets & Training, Product, Marketing and other functional teams.
Continuous Improvement
- Stay informed on industry trends and competitor practices.
- Recommend enhancements to training programs based on field insights.
Technology Utilization
- Use LMS platforms and virtual training tools to deliver and track programs.
- Maintain accurate records of training attendance and completion.

Sales Expertise
- Strong understanding of sales processes, regional market dynamics, and customer engagement strategies.
- Ability to teach consultative selling and objection handling in real-world scenarios.
Training & Facilitation
- Skilled in delivering in-person, hands-on training sessions with confidence and energy that inspire learner engagement
- Ability to lead role-play and shadowing exercises for practical learning, fostering a dynamic and enthusiastic learning environment
- Comfortable presenting to diverse audiences and adapting delivery style to maintain momentum and motivation
- Passionate about creating interactive experiences that build competence and excitement around sales excellence
Coaching & Mentorship
- Proficient in providing real-time feedback and individualized coaching.
- Ability to identify skill gaps and create tailored development plans.
Program Customization
- Expertise in adapting corporate training programs to local market needs.
- Ability to balance consistency with flexibility for regional requirements.
Performance Monitoring
- Strong analytical skills for tracking adoption of tools and processes.
- Ability to report training outcomes and recommend improvements.
Product Knowledge
- Deep understanding of product features, benefits, and differentiators.
- Ability to translate technical specs into customer value.
- Staying current with product updates and roadmap changes.
Technology Proficiency
- Familiarity with Salesforce, LMS (KIU) platforms, and mobile training tools.
- Comfortable using digital tools for scheduling and reporting.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field, preferred
- Preferred: Certifications in Sales Training, Coaching, or Adult Learning
- 3-5 years of experience in field sales or training roles, preferred
- Proven ability to deliver hands-on coaching and regional training programs.
- Experience collaborating with sales leadership and adapting programs for local markets.
- Familiarity with CRM systems and sales enablement tools, preferred
- Familiarity in Learning Management Systems (LMS) and virtual training platforms.
- Ability to use mobile tools for field-based training and reporting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills.
- Adaptability to different markets and learning styles.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
