Position Summary

The UNM HSC Center for Native American Health (CNAH) specializes in
student and workforce development, community engagement, community-based
participatory research (CBPR), community health assessment capacity building,
program planning, and project management.

CNAH promotes Indigenous
well-being through research by engaging leadership, communities, students, and
knowledge in the discovery of local solutions. We provide technical assistance
through contracts and academic service to tribal programs, academic
institutions and departments, non-profit and community organizations, and
students on Indigenous health topics using a CBPR approach.

CNAH has an exciting
opportunity for a Program Manager to
join our Center and our Research Core
in support of the WEAVE Heart Health and
Nutrition for Life (HHNL) project. Asa multi-level intervention, WEAVE HHNL is
designed to advance the science of community-engaged health disparities research
across multi-cultural populations, ensuring high rigor and reproducibility and
including a focus on social determinants of health interventions that address
the root causes and drivers that impact cardiovascular disease(hypertension)
and health outcomes across diverse multi-cultural populations.

Specific duties for this position
include, but are not limited to:

  • Contracts and grants preparation and management
  • Budget preparation, cost estimating, monitoring, and fiscal management using established principles and procedures
  • Monthly, quarterly, and annual grant reporting
  • Meeting and events implementation and management
  • Rapid cycle over sight of website re-implementation with collaborative revision
  • Attentive engagement with community partners and university units to enhance program deliverables
  • Technical and professional coordination and leadership in the execution of day-to-day program/project activities, fostering a cooperative work environment.

Notice: Funding will be renewed
on a year-to-year basis for a 4-year grant with award end date of 3/31/28.
Continuance beyond the grant award end will be subject to operational needs as
outlined in UBPPM #3200, Employee Classifications,http://policy.unm.edu/university-policies/3000/3200.html.

Conditions of Employment

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; at least 6 years of experience 2 of which are management level experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.

Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.



Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with engaging and
    trust-building with Native American individuals and communities.
  • Strong and demonstrated track
    record in contracts and grants management and budgeting and finance.
  • Experience with community engaged research partnerships.
  • Ability to produce and edit
    high quality professional writing and reports.
  • Experience with management of
    web site re-development and other forms of community-engaged research
    dissemination.
