What to Expect
Tesla is seeking a skilled and experienced Training Coordinator to join our Technical Training Team at Giga Texas. This role is critical in delivering high-quality training programs for electricians and technicians to ensure operational excellence in our cutting-edge manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience as an electrician in industrial or manufacturing settings, expertise in specialized tools and systems, and a passion for teaching complex technical concepts through innovative and creative hands-on learning experiences.

What You'll Do
  • Training Delivery:Conduct classroom and hands-on training sessions for new hires, apprentices, and existing staff on topics such as: Electrical troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation, Proper use of digital multimeters for diagnostics and testing, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) integration, programming, and troubleshooting for automated systems, Reading, interpreting, and applying electrical schematics and blueprints for manufacturing equipment and systems, Comprehensive electrical safety training adhering to industry standards
  • Safety Compliance:Ensure all training aligns with OSHA regulations, with a strong emphasis on NFPA 70E standards for electrical safety in the workplace, including arc flash hazard awareness, personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements, and safe work practices. Promote a culture of safety across all training initiatives
  • Skill Assessment:Evaluate trainees' performance through practical assessments (e.g., multimeter usage, PLC diagnostics, and schematic interpretation), written tests, and feedback sessions to ensure competency and readiness for operational roles
  • Equipment Familiarization:Provide instruction on the use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems, automation equipment, and diagnostic tools specific to Tesla's manufacturing processes, including digital multimeters and PLC-controlled machinery
  • Mentorship:Act as a mentor to trainees, offering guidance on career development and fostering a collaborative learning environment
  • Creativity and Innovation:Develop engaging and innovative training methods, leveraging creative approaches to simplify complex concepts like electrical schematics and PLC logic, while encouraging trainees to think critically and propose novel solutions to technical challenges
  • Continuous Improvement:Collaborate with the Technical Training Team to identify skill gaps, recommend training enhancements, and stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and updates to NFPA 70E guidelines

What You'll Bring
  • Education:High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience:Expectation of 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician, with at least 2 years in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Prior teaching or training experience is highly desirable
  • Certifications:Journeyman or Master Electrician license expected. Additional certifications in electrical safety (e.g., NFPA 70E compliance training) or technical training (e.g., Certified Technical Trainer) are a plus
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in electrical systems, automation controls, and diagnostic tools, including advanced use of digital multimeters for voltage, current, and resistance measurements. Expertise in PLC integration, programming, and troubleshooting for industrial automation systems. Strong ability to read, interpret, and teach electrical schematics and technical diagrams for complex manufacturing systems. In-depth knowledge of NFPA 70E standards and their application in workplace safety. Familiarity with Tesla's manufacturing technologies is an advantage
  • Communication Skills:Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts, such as electrical schematics and PLC logic, to diverse audiences
  • Interpersonal Skills:Strong mentorship and leadership abilities, with a patient and supportive approach to teaching
  • Creativity and Innovation:Demonstrated ability to think creatively and develop innovative training techniques that inspire learning and problem-solving among trainees
