The Salvation Army Mission Statement:

A. BASIC PURPOSE

To assist in the general upkeep and maintenance of camp and its buildings.

B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Clean and maintain all buildings.
Stock all bathrooms as needed.
Sweep outside porches and walkways daily.
Wash porches and walkways as needed.
Empty trash containers daily.
Keep grounds in order.
Wash camp vehicles as needed.
Chop firewood for evening camp fire program.
Keep shop area clean.
Wear and use appropriate safety equipment for the job. (ex. Safety glasses when working with carpentry, safety glasses, ear plugs & chaps when using weed eaters.)
Be prompt and conscientious at every job assignment and always be aware of safety factors involved in the task at hand.
Clean work area after each workday and after the job is completed.
Drive carefully through camp area - speed limit 5 miles per hour.
Help out in other areas as needed.

C. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS
Report any suspected child abuse issues to the Program Director and take necessary actions to report it properly.
Report general property maintenance issues to Operations Director through appropriate channels.
Maintain a standard of cleanliness in personal grooming and in living quarters.
Assist with the clean up of the total camp at the end of each session and at the conclusion of the summer.
All staff may be called upon at any time to assist in the total operation of the camp.

D. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Possession of a valid California Class A or B Driver License with passenger endorsement is preferred, or ability to obtain within six months of hire.
Must be 21 years or older.
Must pass DOT Pre-Employment and DOT Physical.
Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.
Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check to include a DOJ Livescan Fingerprint check.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis.
Ability to grasp, push, pull objects and tools
Ability to lift up to 25lbs.
