Responsibilities

Responsible for performing a variety of project and cleaning functions, including carpet and upholstery cleaning, maintaining hard surfaces and ceramic tile floors and surfaces. Use and safely operate a variety of equipment and machines.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Clean carpet, floors, and upholstery; move furniture
  • Maintain floor care equipment including carpet cleaning equipment, cleaning machines, buffers and scrubbers.
  • Wash interior and exterior windows
  • Wash walls and furniture
  • Conduct biohazard clean-up such as fluids, spills, etc.
  • Perform trash removal and stock supplies
  • Service and clean assigned areas to ensure environmental service standards are met; dust, sanitize, vacuum, sweep, mop, etc.
  • Assist EVS team when needed including changing linens, cleaning units including patient rooms, group rooms, offices, and common areas
  • Maintain safety throughout the facility by complying with Joint Commission standards, Infection Control protocols, and PrairieCare policies
  • After training, staff should be able to manage disruptive or explosive patients, with the emphasis on personal safety/protection
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years directly related experience in floor care and environmental services
  • Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and CDC safety guidelines that pertain to maintaining a clean and safe work environment
  • Knowledge of environmental care chemicals, correct usage and storage
  • Ability to multitask, manage multiple dissimilar projects, use supplies and equipment in a cost-effective manner, while ensuring safety and cleanliness.

Compensation for this role ranges from $18-$21 per hour depending on education and experience.
