Job Summary
Under the direction of the Patient Support Services Director, the SPHM Program Administrator is responsible for regulatory oversight of the Safe Patient Handling and Mobility program at UC Davis Health. This position serves as the administrator for program development, implementation and monitoring, working in conjunction with the SPHM Trainers, Leads and Ergonomics Specialist. This position oversees the SPHM program at UC Davis Health with an emphasis on regulatory compliance and injury prevention. This position will supervise a team and provide professional knowledge and expertise in safe patient handling and mobility, ergonomics, body mechanics and in support of other patient and staff safety programs. This position works closely and collaboratively with several internal and external parties to coordinate and implement SPHM standards, guidelines, and system-wide strategies to reduce injuries. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills and experience with Tableau and Smartsheet to support data-driven decision-making and program evaluation. - Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
- Demonstrated expertise in SPHM, kinesiology/ergonomics, and teambased patient mobility.
- Working knowledge of state/federal regulations relevant to SPHM and ability to translate into policy/practice.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, Tableau/Smartsheet (or equivalent), and presentation tools.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; ability to teach adults and influence across disciplines.
- Expert analytical skills to conduct analysis and develop recommendations, demonstrating organization and problem-solving skills.
- Expert knowledge of functional area and expert understanding of how work impacts other areas in human resources and the organization.
- Expert knowledge of training and delivery methodologies, organizational diagnosis, organization and business strategies.
- Expert verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills and advanced presentation skills.
- Expert knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
- Expert project and program management skills.
- Expert knowledge of training and development, performance and workplace learning. Ability to apply knowledge to achieve successful organizational outcomes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialized SPHM Certification (e.g., CSPHP, or equivalent).
- Experience leading enterprise training programs; knowledge of adult learning methodologies.
- Experience with Epic documentation standards related to mobility/safety.
- Experience coordinating vendor relationships and capital/consumable planning for mobility equipment.
