Description
Overview
The Clinical Review Pharmacist shall assist the pharmacy prior authorization manager in formulary management including, but not limited to, overseeing the prior authorization process, growth hormone case management, utilization review reporting, pharmacy and therapeutics committee activities, communication with physicians and pharmacists, communication with staff on departmental policies and procedures. On call duties are a requirement of the job.
II. Qualifications
A. Bachelor's degree required; licensed to practice pharmacy in the state of New York required.
B. Five (5) years of pharmacy experience required; professional experience providing pharmaceutical care preferred.
C. PC and windows skills required. Proficiency with pharmacy computer systems preferred.
D. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience communicating with other health care professionals.
E. Strong clinical knowledge base kept current through educational endeavors and professional affiliations, strong comprehension of pharmaceutical managed care issue.
III. Essential Accountabilities
A. Knowledge of all aspects of the prior authorization process.
B. Knowledge of clinical protocols, policies and procedures required to administer pharmacy benefits with consistency and expediency.
C. Prepare communication as required.
IV. Location/Pay/Hours:
a. Location: Location(s): Hybrid schedule, 2 days onsite required at PBD (10 Earhart Drive, Williamsville, NY)
b. Pay: $50
c. Hours: 8:00-4:00pm

* Work is typically performed in an office environment with some physical demands such as: sitting for long periods of time (6-8 hours per day) bending, stretching, lifting, typing, speaking, hearing, handling, fingering, lifting up to 5 lbs., near acuity/clarity with or without correction, subject to inside environmental conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes, subject to moderate noise, and normal exposure to everyday risks and discomfort requiring common safety precautions.
* While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to communicate professionally in person, over the telephone, through email and other
electronic means, handle various types of media and equipment, and visually or otherwise identify, observe and assess. Responsibilities occasionally may require an adjusted work schedule, overtime, and evening hours in order to meet deadlines.

* The ability to telecommute (work remotely off-campus) as required on a regular basis or whenever necessary to continue business operations.
