Intern-IT

Join us as an IT Intern and spend ten weeks building real-world experience while working alongside talented developers, analysts, and business leaders.

You'll support meaningful IT and business projects, explore how systems drive retail operations, and participate in learning, mentorship, and collaboration across the company. This is a chance to contribute, learn from experienced professionals, and help modernize tools that impact thousands of team members and guests.

Core Department Business Experience

• Serve as a contributing member of a designated home department (e.g., Operations, HR, Merchandising, Marketing, IT, or Finance).
• Support key departmental projects that align with business objectives and priorities.
• Participate in day-to-day activities and gain exposure to functional operations and decision-making processes.

IT Focused Projects:

• Update Coborn's employee CSC market - Learn about end-to-end retail by helping us update reinvent how our lunchroom marketplace works. The market today operates as a mini-store within our CSC and it is in need of a refresh. Learn about merchandising, assortment, pricing, inventory management, ordering and point-of-sale, all of the basic functions of retail and improve operations and financials for how our employee marketplace operates.
• Help us modernize our technology by identifying where business rules and logic has been embedded in code and stored procedures. Help to be a part of re-defining new rules and logic working alongside Coborn's development teams to modernize how these get handled in a new architecture.
• Exploring ways where technology can improve pharmacy inventory tracking for our RX warehouse and central fill.

Strategic Business Project

• Collaborate in small teams (2-3 interns) to complete a strategic, cross-functional project.
• Conduct research, analyze data, and develop creative, actionable recommendations.
• Deliver a formal presentation of project outcomes to the Operating Committee at the conclusion of the program.

Cross-Department Learning

• Participate in job shadows with leaders from multiple departments to gain a broad view of organizational operations.
• Explore retail and non-retail environments to see firsthand how strategic initiatives impact guests.
• Attend cross-functional learning sessions that foster business understanding and collaboration.

Development & Learning

• Complete weekly learning assignments including readings, TED Talks, and guided reflection exercises.
• Attend large-group sessions led by the Learning & Development (L&D) team featuring leadership lessons, guest speakers, and business insights.
• Participate in skill-building workshops focused on communication, problem-solving, teamwork, and presentation skills.

Mentorship & Support

• Meet weekly with an assigned mentor for feedback, coaching, and career development discussions.
• Check in regularly with a department lead to review project progress and learning goals.
• Partner with L&D throughout the program to track growth and ensure a meaningful learning experience.
