Job Responsibilities:


  • Participates in the recruitment/hiring process of new staff; Coordinates orientation of new team members and continuing education of current staff.
  • Identifies and directs in-services and education to enhance team member clinical expertise. Including, but not limited to in-services related to endoscopy equipment, supplies, procedures and process per Inova policies, SGNA best practice and equipment/supply IFUs.
  • Assist in identifying and implementing quality and performance improvement projects/programs to enhance clinical outcomes and efficient operations.
  • Coordinates with physicians for procedure needs along with supplies for case readiness.
  • Participates in multi-disciplinary communication regarding case and service requirements. Chairs Service Team Meetings with staff. Acts as a clinical leader and resource in Endoscopy Suite.
  • Mentors team. Understands, incorporates, and coaches team members on SGNA, TJC, and other professional and regulatory standards into clinical practice. Utilizes and reinforces correct understanding of intraoperative outcomes. Creates, with supervisor, a self-development plan related to professional goals.

Additional Requirements:



  • Experience - 3 years of experience as an Endoscopy Technician
  • Certification - Basic Life Support from AHA upon start
  • Education - Associate's Degree; The Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates - Advanced Associate's Program Completion
