Pay Rate: $18.23 plus 0.45 shift differential

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:


This position is responsible for leading and directing daily operations in the trim room to ensure the production of safe, quality food in compliance with SQF standards.



MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS/DUTIES OF THE POSITION:



  • Conduct daily inspections to ensure equipment and the environment are in safe operating condition.
  • Review the production schedule and planned sequence before starting.
  • Issue schedules to cutter operators and assign trim line sequencing.
  • Anticipate and request raw materials needed to fulfill scheduled production.
  • Calculate, monitor, and maintain basket requirements and inventory by product.
  • Ensure all paperwork is complete, accurate, and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Track schedule, sequence, and production.
  • Achieve schedule attainment within established standards.
  • Monitor breaks and lunches for staff.
  • Train employees to adhere to operating procedures.
  • Conduct tailgate meetings and lead exercise routines at the beginning of each shift.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by your supervisor.


Required Skills

JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:


SKILLS: Effective communication and computer skills are essential. The candidate must be a self-starter, capable of taking initiative, analyzing problems, and troubleshooting product flow and equipment issues. Strong leadership abilities are necessary.


ADDITIONAL: Candidates should have the hands-on capability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food processing environment. They must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, maintain acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with coworkers, and understand and adhere to posted work rules and procedures.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


Work is performed in a cool environment with an average temperature of 34 degrees Fahrenheit.


Concentrated chlorine and concealed ammonia are present in the facility. Work surfaces and floors may


be wet. Employees are required to wear approved footwear and protective equipment. Candidates must be


able to lift to 30 lbs. unassisted for one-third of the workday and 10 lbs. overhead as needed. Constant standing


on a concrete floor, along with reaching, bending, stooping, and repetitive hand movements may be required.


Moving machinery, including conveyors and forklifts, operates in the immediate area.


WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:


2nd Shift - No travel required.

Required Experience

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:



  • Knowledge of production processes is required, with previous experience in a food processing facility preferred.
  • A high school diploma or GED is required. Completion of the required WorkKeys tests is mandatory.
