  • 7:00 am - 3:30 pm (Mon-Fri) onsite

Compensation

At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members, and we are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $85580 - $113451. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training. This role is also eligible for S&C's annual incentive plan (AIP), subject to eligibility criteria.

Join Our Team as a Manufacturing Engineer!

Are you passionate about Engineering & Production? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our engineering function. The Manufacturing Engineer will help coordinate and assist with projects of various magnitudes within Manufacturing Technology. Projects may vary from basic routing and BOM updates, to assisting with justifying, specifying and purchasing capital-funded projects such as new machine/equipment investments. This position is for a self-motivated, goal-driven engineer who displays an aptitude in many aspects of manufacturing and an ability to successfully manage projects to completion. The job requires an ability to develop project plans and communicate effectively throughout implementation. This person will report to Leadership within Manufacturing Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with or coordinate various aspects of new or revised product/process/equipment, system implementation.
  • Work on a project team as a fully functioning engineer, giving technical guidance to engineers of less experience and technicians assigned to work on a common project but does not have supervisory responsibility.
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, most notably, internal customers and suppliers.
  • Demonstrate commitment to meeting and supporting departmental, divisional, and company goals/objectives/strategies.
  • Demonstrate good report preparation, presentation, and listening skills.
  • Create project plans and successfully manage/oversee projects through completion in a timely fashion.
  • Use Microsoft Excel for improving operations/systems, problem solving, and presentations/project management.
  • Demonstrate a high regard for people by treating them with dignity, respect, fairness and consistency.
  • Set a good example of behavior, attitude and teamwork both within and between departments.
  • Adapt to changes; shows commitment to change and continuous improvement

What you'll Need To Succeed:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or other related Engineering field.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and demonstrated implementation of the lean principles & key performance indicators.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel to analyze operational metrics
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, to clearly present ideas in a variety of forums.
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprint and CAD Drawings including Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (GD&T)
  • Working knowledge of DXF files and CNC programming (G&M Codes, what they mean, etc.)
  • Demonstrated experience with MRP/ERP systems (Oracle preferred)
  • Familiarity with Tool Design and Tool Building, and its application with metal-cutting and forming equipment.
  • Familiarity with CNC programming and its application with metal-cutting and forming equipment.
  • Technical knowledge of processes, equipment, and/or support services and other relevant manufacturing activities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Standing: Most tasks are performed in a standing position.
  • Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 40 lbs.
  • Walking: Moderate walking of distances up to 1 mile around the S&C Campus.
  • Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5 lbs. to 25 lbs.
  • Pushing: Occasional use of an electric hand truck and pushing to move parts a moderate distance.
  • Pulling: Occasional use of an electric hand truck and pulling to move parts a moderate distance.
  • Bending: Frequent bending and crouching required to perform a variety of tasks.
  • Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees to reach for items.
  • Handling: Continuous handling of parts and tools to perform a variety of tasks.
  • Environment: Working environment that of a manufacturing/fabrication company including the use of heavy industrial equipment.
