Position Overview:

Ameresco currently has an opportunity for a Senior Financial Analyst basedin Framingham, MA to join the Alternative Fuels team. This is a hybrid role and will report directly to the Senior Director of Asset Management.

Responsibilities:

  • Support in developing, maintaining, and periodically updating the business unit forecast and budgets based on the inputs from the operations team and senior management.

  • Variance analysis - Perform budget/forecast to actual variance analysis and present the findings to the management.

  • Evaluate current and historical financial data.

  • Financial modeling - Support in developing and maintaining the financial models used for evaluating new business opportunities and M&A opportunities

  • Understand and develop structuring for new offtake and feedstock contracts.

  • Working on the project financing - financial modeling, lender due diligence and data room management.

  • Create and maintain a Power BI dashboard to support variance analysis and present financial information.

  • Support on other short-term projects from time to time.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting or another relevant field.

  • Minimum of 4 years of renewable energy financial modeling, project financing and/or variance analysis in a professional setting.

  • Ability to interpret financial data, identify trends, and provide analytical inputs.

  • Ability to develop deep understanding of the portfolio, projects, commercial terms of the contracts, financing etc. needed for financial modeling.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, financial modeling, and other analytical tools.

Additional Qualifications:

  • CFA holder/candidate or MBA preferred but not necessary.

  • Financial Modeling Software: Excel (fundamental for budgeting, forecasting, and modeling) is preferred.

  • Business Intelligence Tools: Power BI (for data visualization and reporting) is preferred.

  • Ability to understand functionality of models prepared by others.

The anticipated base salary range for this role is $92,000-$134,000 (presented in good faith). In addition to base pay, employees receive a comprehensive benefits package, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off, and may be eligible for performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity, depending on the role.

Actual pay will depend on factors such as internal equity, skills, experience, education, certifications, and location. This range supports our commitment to pay transparency and compliance with applicable laws. Compensation may vary by work location, including remote arrangements.
