At the Center for Leadership in Disability (CLD) in the Mark Chaffin Centers for Healthy Development, School of Public Health, we seek to translate research into community practices that improve the lives of people with disabilities and their family members. As a grant-funded University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD), we engage in four core functions (i.e., interdisciplinary training and education; community service; research & evaluation; and information dissemination) to achieve this goal.

The Center for Leadership in Disability is seeking (1) IDEAL Project Manager to join our team.

IDEAL is an inclusive postsecondary education program for undergraduate students with intellectual disabilities at GSU. Responsibilities for the new Project Manager position include recruiting, supporting, and assessing progress of IDEAL students; providing and receiving training related to implementation of IPSE programs; maintaining and developing new relationships with IDEAL program stakeholders and funders; and contributing to the management and administration of the IDEAL program.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Identifies new initiatives and funding opportunities for IDEAL Contributes to proposal writing for external program funding
  • Supports IDEAL Program budgeting
  • Develops and implements project plans for IDEAL initiatives
  • Contributes to managing IDEAL contracts with outside entities
  • Manages communication and marketing for IDEAL
  • Provides information to the public about IDEAL
  • Contributes to preparing reports for funders and stakeholders
  • Trains and supervises IDEAL support staff
  • Provides training and consultation to other educators and community members
  • Works with state and regional partners, steering committees, and other external stakeholders to meet IDEAL goals and objectives
  • Attends training programs, as appropriate, to understand current and emerging trends in IPSE program design, student recruitment and retention, and sustainability
  • Provides academic, social, and employment supports to IDEAL students
  • Interacts with IDEAL students on a daily basis to ensure they are engaged in planned activities
  • Conducts ongoing assessment of students' progress towards receiving certificate at conclusion of program
  • Coordinates recruitment of new IDEAL students
  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with K-12 schools, parents, and interested applicants
  • Works with students with IDD, their families, and IPSE program staff to support student success
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.
