Georgia State University College of Law is currently seeking a part-time Digital Communications Specialist (Temp). This role is essential in raising the college's profile as a national leader in legal education. This position supports the development and implementation of a digital communications strategy to assist with all aspects of the College of Law, including external and internal communication initiatives.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Reporting to the Director of Law Communications and Strategic Marketing Development, the professional who fills this position will be responsible for strategically managing the College of Law's social media channels, including LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram. In addition, the digital communications specialist will develop newsletter content and write feature stories for the College of Law website and the annual digital magazine. The Digital Communications Specialist will also assist the team with managing project requests from departments, centers, clinics and others.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Monitoring analytics for the COL social media channels, using the results to inform data-driven decisions and creating a monthly analytics report.

  • Using the latest online tools to enhance COL's social media content, drive traffic, and raise awareness of the COL brand.

  • Planning, implementing, and monitoring a Digital Media strategy to increase brand awareness and improve marketing efforts.

  • Ensures all digital components are branded properly and in line with the COL brand and the university style guide.

  • This position will be responsible for writing and editing content for COL social media channels and the website.

  • Supports and enhances internal and external communications initiatives to improve how the College of Law connects with the public, stakeholders and the COL community, utilizing traditional and digital marketing efforts.

  • Maintains an archive system for Law Communication projects and works along with the director and assistant director to design, develop and publish the College of Law magazine once a year.

  • Supports Law Communications with project management and general assignments. Ensures the editorial and graphic identity of marketing materials meet guidelines.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years experience working in journalism, communications, marketing
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, New Media or Journalism
  • Experience with managing professional social media channels, writing content with minimal errors, working with a social media scheduling tool.
  • Experience capturing and editing images and video content is a plus but not required.

The ideal candidate must be organized, deadline-driven, apply problem-solving and critical thinking skills and be enthusiastic about working with stakeholders, both internal and external to the College of Law.
