Supply Technician

Fort Rucker, Alabama

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Manages the receipt, inventory, accountability, issue, turn-in, shipment, and storage responsibilities for all property assigned to Range Operations at Fort Rucker, AL. Works independently with minimal supervision, safeguarding and maintaining Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), materials and facilities. Receives property into the inventory, ensures it is properly documented and maintains a current up to date inventory listing of all property. Conducts scheduled Cyclic and 100% inventories as directed by the Government. Counts, sorts or inventories incoming/outgoing items to verify the accuracy of receiving/shipping and invoice documents. Adjust inventory records to include quantities, description, unit of issue and location. Ensures all property is properly marked, tagged, or identified. Initiates requisitions, receives, stores and issues equipment, materials, supplies, tools and spares. Maintains current and up to date Hand receipts for all sections and loan/issue items. Controls the movement of property and equipment. Identifies unserviceable/uneconomically repairable property and complete turn-in. Request and comply with disposition instructions of property that are serviceable, unserviceable, unrepairable, obsolete and no longer used.

Prepares, and reviews all required correspondence, reports, feeder data and information for 100% accuracy prior to submission. Supervisor. Coordinates with internal Range Staff for Rotational Unit usage of equipment and assignment of priorities. Ensure all equipment is documented in the Automation system. Conduct follow-up actions on turn-in, procurement and disposition of unserviceable, obsolete, unrepairable, new and replacement equipment, property and training devices. Coordinate with Branch management personnel concerning property administration issues/actions. Perform other work-related duties as assigned. May perform duties in lower related job classification.

Adheres to the company, site, local directives, memoranda, policies and procedures. Support quality/ISO, SOP updates, and work instruction updates, security of equipment, safety and training programs.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Practical experience with Army logistics management systems and associated military systems is strongly desired.
  • Requires a minimum of three (3) years' experience in supply and /or material control, property administration. Clearly knowledgeable in the field of supply or material control and a firm understanding of logistical procedures and Government Regulations for supply and material control.
  • Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent. Formal or on-the-job training in requisitioning, issuing, warehousing, documentation and control of property.
  • Experience requires (a) a good working knowledge of the government supply systems, databases and computer programs of record, supply discipline programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines; (b) an understanding of the needs of the organization serviced; and (c) analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data to establish the facts, and take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established guidelines.
  • Must be able to lift a maximum of 50 lbs and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Computer experience in Microsoft Office, Excel and MAXIMO systems.
  • Must have working knowledge of the Multiple Integrated Laser Engagement System (MILES) equipment, Warehouse Automation, and related equipment.
  • Possesses direct liaison authority to communicate with DAC staff for all government related logistics functions.
  • Proof of US Citizenship required.



SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:



  • Must be able to effectively communicate with military organizations, military leaders and civilian leaders.
  • Must be capable of operating hand or power trucks (forklift) in performing warehousing duties.
  • Must have a valid driver's license, maintain Installation driving privileges and complete a Defensive Driving Course.
  • Must be able to pass all security requirements IAW military installation Provost Marshall's Policy to gain access to the installation.

Working Environment:

The work environment consists of both office and field settings within the Fort Rucker Gunnery Range and Training Complex. The position may require frequent visits to range and maintenance sites, including exposure to noise, weather, and outdoor conditions typical of live-fire training environments. The Project Manager may be required to work extended hours, weekends, or holidays based on mission schedules and contract needs.
