Unit Description:

2H ICU is a 12-bed cardiovascular and thoracic intensive care unit. Primarily serving post-op cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries (CABG, Valve, TAVR, Bronch/Thor, and other thoracic and vascular surgery),this unitalso cares for general surgery post-op, critical cardiac Cath lab interventions, sepsis, and complex care ICU patients.

Job Description:

The Registered Nurse (RN) implements professional nursing practice centered on the patient as a whole person and the creation of a caring environment focused on healing and wellness.

• As a clinical nurse, this individual spends majority of his/her time (> 50%) coordinating, ensuring, and providing direct patient care activities on the unit through: provision of nursing rounds, assessments and treatments; facilitating admission, transfer and discharge activities; provision of patient and family-centered education; care coordination and individualized treatment planning as applicable, etc.

Minimum Education, Experience, Training and Licensures Required:

• Current RN licensure or work permit in Kentucky.

• Bachelor's or an associate degree in nursing from an accredited college/university.

• Those with an associate degree in nursing and less than 10 years of experience must enroll within 12 months of hire in a bachelor's degree program and musthave achieved the degree within 5 years.

• Basic Life Support- Applicants will have 30 days from their hired date to provide completion of this certification if they don't have it already.

• ACLS/PALS/NRP and successful completion of dysrhythmia class as required by department of Assignment.
