Responsibilities

  • Work under the direction of the supervisor of the Switchboard/Answering Service supervisor.
  • The Switchboard attendant will answer all calls promptly and courteously, recording messages accurately, and deliver messages following the physicians instructions.
  • Keep accurate status information according to hospital policy. Cross-train in the area of the Switchboard and maintain proficiency.
  • Maintain a friendly, caring, and professional attitude toward all employees, patients and other calling parties.
  • Provide a good working environment within the department to insuring a safe and clean work environment

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • One year of working in a business environment.

Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience dealing with the public is preferred.
  • One year of experience in a hospital setting is preferred.
