Position Description:

The Medical College of Wisconsin's Department of Surgery - Colorectal Surgery is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide primary or specialty medical care within defined scope of practice under the supervision of a licensed physician and in accordance with MCW/FMLH/CHW policies and procedures. In our efforts to optimize outcomes for our patients, we take full advantage of all that an academic medical center can offer by working closely with our colleagues in Surgical Oncology, Medical Oncology, Radiation Therapy, Genetic Counseling, Gastroenterology, Radiology and other departments in Milwaukee, WI at Froedtert Hospital.

Position Highlights:

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary health care teams in diagnosing and treatment of benign and malignant conditions requiring surgical intervention in an inpatient environment as a member of the Colorectal Surgery service.
• Privileged to perform procedures beyond core as identified by the Colorectal Surgery Services.

Minimum Education:

• Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
• Physician Assistant: Master's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.

Preferred Schedule:



Full-time role with expectations for coverage during core business hours and flexibility required as necessary to accommodate business needs

Minimum Education:

• Advanced Practice Nurse: Master's Degree or higher in Nursing from a nationally accredited organization.
• Physician Assistant: Master's Degree or higher in Physician Assistant Studies from an ARC-PA-accredited organization.

• Advanced Practice Nurse/ Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner
• Wisconsin RN License
• Wisconsin Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber License
• Certification Requirements
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) required within 6 months of start date
• DEA registration
• Physician Assistant
• Wisconsin Physician Assistant License
• Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
• Certification Requirements
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) required within 6 months of start date
