We are seeking a Principal Quality Engineer to join the Rebates Modernization team within OptumRx. This role is critical to our transformation journey, helping modernize and own our Service level objectives, reliability and scalability of our infrastructure and applications. The engineer will play a key role in ensuring the stability and integrity of our new Data and compute platforms on Hyperscale and Data Bricks in Azure. and be responsible for ensuring the application functionality is fully tested, verified and validated.

We are looking for Proactive and self-motivated individuals with the ability to quickly learn the RxMax application, apply solid analytical skills to explore complex datasets, and gain a deep understanding of system functionality.

This candidate will be a testing expert in Test Automation consulting and responsible for working with the business teams and developers/engineers for requirement gathering, solutioning and ensuring that functionality is verified and validated.

They will be involved in Test Automation Consulting assignments for the application while being able to support test tools, DevOps, CI/CD consulting.

Ideal Candidate should have:

  • Demonstrated and applied understanding of modern development methodologies and tools to develop, deploy and maintain impactful, high-value market solutions
  • Competency in the programming languages most relevant and appropriate to role and problem space
  • Understands underlying solution architecture of solution and aligns or adapts it to optimize for business needs
  • Possess breadth of knowledge spanning all bodies of technologies, e.g., databases, middleware, OS, etc.
  • Understand business objectives and how technology can optimize and enable solutions
  • Focus on business value proposition & comply with enterprise security protocols
  • Understands and incorporates quality principles to ensure optimal performance, impact and experience

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Solid analytical capabilities are essential for success in this role
  • The ability to think critically and analyze data is a key requirement
  • Design, develop, reuse, and execute tests in multiple software lifecycle, e.g., ATDD (Acceptance Test Driven Development)/Agile setting
  • Develop an in-depth system and application knowledge to provide higher test quality and coverage
  • Constantly evaluate and enhance the test strategy and approach
  • Collaborate as part of the scrum team in grooming user stories and development of acceptance criteria for the user stories
  • Ensure functional and non-functional acceptance criteria aligns to the business value statement
  • Champion, mentor and direct other engineers and business in test process best practices and quality engineering principles
  • Embrace continuous learning to ensure industry's best practices and technology adoption
  • Serves as a recognized expert for the RxMax Application.
  • Provides guidance, troubleshoots and answers complex questions related to the RxMax Application
  • Recognized as the "go to" person when it comes to understanding the RxMax Application functionality, both with development teams and the business teams
  • Develop and create automation testing scripts for RxMax
  • Identifies and communicates enterprise-wide impact of internal and external issues
  • Ensure data quality, consistency, and reliability across the data engineering infrastructure

Required Qualifications:

  • 6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering
  • 6+ years of experience in performing data analysis
  • 5+ years of experience querying and building data pipelines around high availability database systems (such as Hyperscale)
  • 3+ years of experience with Azure
  • Expert in creating test automation framework (using Selenium and Cypress Test Automation tools)
  • Expert in analyzing test results, identifying bottlenecks
  • Experience working in distributed, cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)
  • Knowledge & Exposure in AI, GenAI, LLMs, GPT4.0
  • Familiarity with streaming technologies and modern data platforms
  • Exposure to the healthcare industry
  • Good problem-solving skills
  • Solid self-driven collaborator with ability to work in diverse teams as a contributing member
  • Solid communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in Java, JavaScript OR Python programming languages

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $110,200 to $188,800 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
