Purpose:


  • Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for Electronics Technicians (Electronic Security) who will provide key support for Department of Defense (DoD) Electronic Security Systems in Killeen, TX.
  • Possess the basic knowledge and skills necessary to install, test and troubleshoot Electronic Security System equipment, read schematics and interpret maintenance manuals.


Job Description:


  • Responsible for installing Electronic Security Systems to DoD specific guideline and requirements.
  • Read and interpret electrical, electronic, and electro-mechanical schematics.
  • Read and interpret building construction plans (blueprints)
  • Be familiar with and use test equipment such as multimeters and cable testers (e.g., Fluke, Klein, Ideal).
  • Perform maintenance, installation, troubleshooting, and testing of security wiring & power circuits.


Qualifications


  • Must have High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of Two (2) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair, maintenance and troubleshooting.


Desired Qualifications:


  • Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program.
  • Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
  • Manufacturer's certification or technical training is highly desirable (Specifically Lenel, Genetec, Security+)
  • Able to use basic hand tools and test equipment.
  • Able to work in a demanding, deadline-driven environment, be detailed orientated, and self-motivated.
  • Strong verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the National Electric Code (NEC) and practices such as grounding and electrical safety.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products and Adobe Acrobat.
  • OSHA 10- or 30-hour Safety Certification
  • CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Minimum of Two (2) years of experience as a technician with installation or maintenance of electronics/electrical systems including, but not limited to:

    • Intrusion Detection Systems
    • Access Control Systems
    • Closed Circuit Television
    • Intercom Systems
    • Mass Notification Systems
    • IP Network Infrastructure
    • Conduit Installation
    • Low Voltage Electrical Systems


  • Knowledge of TCP/IP Network Systems and Topology.


Security Requirements:


  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD "Secret" security clearance.
  • Must be a US Citizen with a valid Driver's License.


Travel Requirements:


  • Between 0% - 5% Travel, international and domestic, depending on program requirements.
  • If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:


  • Must be able to reach, climb, stoop, & kneel up to 75% of the time.
  • Repetitive motion, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, hearing, and visual acuity (depth perception).
  • Must be able to lift u to 50 lbs.
  • Moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), Inside or Outside / Noise levels





Pay Range: $25 - $30 per hour
