The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) plays an essential role in supporting patient care within the Radiation Oncologyclinics. Under the direction of the Nurse Manager, the LVN provides clinical and administrative support within the LVN scope of practice, working within a primary nursing model and following all University, Hospital, and departmental policies.

In this role, you will support clinic operations by assisting RNs and leadership with patient flow, supplies, and equipment needs. You will collaborate closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, PAs, radiation therapists, physicists, and other team members to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate patient care.

As a Senior LVN, you will identify and report normal and abnormal symptoms, urgent concerns, and abnormal lab values to providers. You will also support clinical services related to radiation therapy and brachytherapy, independently prioritizing patient care needs across multiple clinic locations-including El Segundo, Westwood, Santa Monica, and additional sites as assigned. Schedules may vary based on operational needs.

This role requires the ability to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to 35 lbs and to consistently use proper body mechanics in alignment with the Safe Patient Handling and Movement Plan (HS 8017).

Salary: $36.34 - $47.94 hourly

Qualifications

Required:


  • Knowledge of all instruments and supplies to perform physical examinations and/or procedures.
  • Ability to take vital signs, administer medications and obtain drug refills as needed.
  • Ability to recognize abnormal laboratory values and report to the physician.
  • Knowledge of symptomatology of common and or life threatening medical problems.
  • Performs phlebotomy, CPR, Injections, and other skills within scope of practice.
  • Possess active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners.
  • Possession of active CPR certification/BCLS
  • Possession of active EKG and Phlebotomy Certification
  • Must be able to pull, push, lift and carry up to 35lb. Must have the ability use correct body mechanics and compliance with the Safe Patient Handling and Movement Plan HS 8017.
