Location: Horseshoe Bay, TX (Central Texas Hill Country)

Employment Type: Full-Time

Maintain Paradise in the Texas Hill Country

The lake life is calling! Horseshoe Bay Resort is looking for a dedicated Gardener to join our grounds and landscape team. Nestled on the shores of Lake LBJ, our 17,000-acre resort is an outdoor lover's dream and a premier destination for luxury golf and Texas hospitality.

As a Gardener, you are the steward of our resort's visual appeal. You will perform routine landscape maintenance and semi-skilled construction, ensuring our grounds remain in world-class condition. If you take pride in working outdoors and have a keen eye for detail, your success story starts here.

The Impact You'll Make

You are responsible for the daily care and aesthetics of our landscape, from precision mowing to high-end project installations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Operation: Safely operate power equipment, including walk-mowers, hedge trimmers, string trimmers, edgers, chain saws, and blowers.
  • Landscape Maintenance: Perform detail-oriented edging, hand-weeding, and walk-mowing. Install and maintain plant materials, mulch, and seasonal greenhouse displays.
  • Project Support: Assist with semi-skilled construction projects, including grading soil, laying sod, and installing paths or walkways.
  • Infrastructure Care: Support irrigation and drainage system repairs, and assist in digging and backfilling trenches as needed.
  • Equipment Stewardship: Maintain daily fuel and fluid levels for all assigned gear. Clean, refuel, and return all tools to designated areas, reporting any failures to the mechanical staff immediately.
  • Safety & Standards: Maintain a clean and orderly workstation. Follow all resort SOPs, safety guidelines, and local ordinances to ensure an environmentally responsible work area.

What You Bring to the Team

  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of hand and power tools, motorized utility vehicles, and landscape maintenance materials.
  • Mechanical Aptitude: Basic understanding of gasoline and diesel equipment operation to perform pre-use checks.
  • Communication: Ability to follow oral and written instructions and effectively communicate with the supervisory and mechanic staff.
  • Mindset: A "team player" attitude with a high degree of common sense and a proactive approach to guest sensitivity.
  • Physical Stamina: Strength and agility to work outdoors in various Texas weather conditions. Ability to frequently lift 50 lbs and occasionally move over 50 lbs with assistance.
  • Qualifications: High School diploma or GED preferred; valid Driver's License and previous landscape experience are highly valued.

We value the team that keeps our paradise green and beautiful.
