The lake life is calling! Horseshoe Bay Resort is seeking a skilled Irrigation Technician to manage the programming, operation, and maintenance of our extensive irrigation and drainage systems. Our 17,000-acre resort depends on precision water management to remain a world-class destination, and you will be the expert ensuring our grounds stay lush and vibrant.

Your Impact: Precision Water Management

You are responsible for the health of our landscape through the expert maintenance of hydraulic and electrical irrigation systems.

Key Responsibilities:



  • System Oversight: Program, operate, and inspect irrigation and drainage systems daily to ensure peak performance and proper soil moisture.
  • Expert Repairs: Troubleshoot and repair pipes, fittings, valves, wiring, controllers, and sprinkler heads.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Perform routine system audits and preventative maintenance; assist in the installation of new irrigation or drainage lines.
  • Inventory Control: Maintain a precise inventory of parts and materials, submitting purchase requests to ensure the team is always "resort-ready."
  • Team Education: Assist in training staff and foremen on system layouts, isolation valves, and water quality pond operations.
  • Versatile Support: Perform Groundskeeper and Equipment Operator duties as needed to support the overall beauty of the resort.


What You Bring to the Team



  • Technical Expertise: Working knowledge of agronomy, electricity, and hydraulics as they relate to automatic heads, valves, and pump stations.
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in grounds maintenance or irrigation installation/repair.
  • Mechanical Skill: Ability to safely operate tractors and motorized equipment; high mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Communication: Excellent oral and written skills to coordinate with supervisory staff and provide interdependent team support.
  • Certifications: Valid Driver's License required. High School Diploma/GED required. We highly encourage obtaining a Texas Pesticide Irrigator License and OSHA certifications.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to work outdoors in various Texas weather conditions. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs frequently.
