Job Summary
The Structured Cabling Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the installation, quality, and performance of structured cabling systems on commercial and government projects. This role provides leadership across multiple projects, ensuring adherence to technical standards, effective team coordination, and timely communication with project management. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in structured cabling, a solid understanding of BICSI standards, and proven ability to lead teams and manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently. Job Responsibilities
Technical Oversight
* Ensure all cabling installations meet industry standards and project specifications
* Provide technical guidance and support to field technicians, leads, and subcontractors
* Review and approve installation plans, drawings, and as-built documentation
* Conduct on-site inspections to verify quality, accuracy, and compliance with standards Project Management
* Oversee large structured cabling projects while assisting in the supervision of smaller projects as needed
* Coordinate project activities and maintain alignment with overall project goals and schedules
* Develop and manage project timelines, labor assignments, and resource allocations
* Ensure project leads remain organized, maintain workflow efficiency, and communicate status updates
* Schedule technicians and temporary staff to meet project deadlines and labor demands
* Monitor project progress, identify issues, and provide timely updates to the Project Manager on advancement
* Manage material orders, equipment needs, and workflow to ensure consistent productivity and cost control Team Leadership
* Lead, mentor, and support project leads and field technicians, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability
* Conduct daily or weekly meetings with leads and teams to review goals, progress, and upcoming tasks
* Provide ongoing training, coaching, and professional development for field personnel
* Promote collaboration, communication, and teamwork to achieve project objectives Client Relations
* Serve as the primary on-site contact for clients, general contractors, and project managers
* Communicate project expectations, updates, and deliverables clearly and professionally
* Address client questions or concerns promptly to ensure satisfaction and maintain positive relationships
* Represent the company with professionalism and integrity at all times Safety Management
* Enforce OSHA and company safety standards on all job sites
* Conduct safety meetings, inspections, and training to maintain a safe working environment
* Investigate and document safety incidents, implementing corrective measures when necessary Job Requirements
* High school diploma or GED required
* Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial structured cabling, low-voltage, or data cable installation
* Proven experience managing large-scale projects and leading multiple field teams
* Strong understanding of BICSI installation standards and structured cabling best practices
* OSHA 10 certification preferred
* Scissor/Boom Lift, Fall Protection, Hilti, and Confined Space Certifications preferred
* Excellent leadership, organizational, and scheduling skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders
* Proficient in project tracking and reporting to management
* Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and move up to 75 lbs.; ability to work on ladders, lifts, and stand for long periods
* Must provide basic hand tools and required PPE (steel/composite toe boots, gloves, safety glasses, etc.) Additional Job Details
