About the Job

Summary: The Researcher will collaborate with graduate students, postdoc, and faculty in optical instrumentation setup, interface coding, data analysis, and gain experience in optical and electronic spectroscopy tasks. The Researcher will extensively use Pytyon and Matlab coding to set up laser sources, imaging spectrometer, and network analyzer in Oh's lab.

60% - Conducting research related to optical instrumentation, spectroscopy, and Python-based data sciences. Authoring or co-authoring, or otherwise collaborating on reports, conference papers and publications. Setting up laser source, connecting with a lab computer, coding for firmware, and extensive data analysis.
20% - Coordinating research activities within the research group and across collaborators. Helping in the organizing of research papers and data statistical analysis.
20% - Assisting with deploying and tuning laser, spectrometer, network analyzer that are routinely used for the majority of our measurements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in ECE or Computer Science or Physics OR a combination of education and work experience to equal at least four years.
  • Experience in Python and Matlab coding is critical.

Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $20 - $25 per hour; depending on education/qualifications/experience

Time Appointment: 70% Appointment (28 hours/ week)
