A National Science Foundation-funded graduate program focused on the theme of material, energy, and water circularity and based in the department of Civil, Environmental and Geo- Engineering trains master's and doctoral students from science, engineering, and policy-related programs. One unique focus of this program is on incorporating cultural perspectives and real-world experiences into academic and industrial research. The Artist in Residence will work with the program directors to develop, teach, and coordinate the cultural and experiential aspects of the program.
This position will provide the artist in residence with a unique opportunity to shape cutting-edge academic educational practices in the sciences and engineering by using arts-based approaches. Therefore, the ideal candidate must have substantial teaching experience, a deep interest and commitment to impactful interdisciplinary collaboration, a successful track record of developing ecology- or environmentally focused projects in collaboration with practitioners from other disciplines, cultures, and communities, and must be based in the Twin Cities to support required educational and engagement activities.
