THIS IS HOW YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS
Job Summary:
Provide automation controls support for entire manufacturing process through the full life cycle of a product. The Automation Manufacturing Engineer Mechanic will be responsible for product launch reviews with project team, continuous improvement projects post-launch and large capital projects to improve plant efficiency.
- Design and implement electrical controls hardware and software for CI projects around the plant
- Manage and improve PLC and auxiliary software programs for all plant equipment
- Support manufacturing team by cross training technicians and root causing downtime events.
- Working with our project launch team support the launch of new product lines in the plant via design reviews
- Support vendor build events a provide proper feedback to ensure success run at Job 1
- Able to generate new CI project ideas and generate cost benefit analysis to evaluate project viability
- Manage vendors to ensure proper install of equipment. Validate this install that comply with safety, quality and throughput standards
- Perform root cause analysis on manufacturing defects that cause downtime, quality defects or safety concerns
- Develop and implement permanent corrective actions on processes as indicated by the root cause analysis
- Coordinate cross functional team meetings to develop best solution to support all departments
- All other job duties as assigned
WHAT YOU WILL BRING ON THE JOURNEY
- Education
- Bachelor of Science or relevant technical Associates Degree
- Experience:
- 5-10 years in manufacturing setting
Preferred to have experience in injection molding or high
- speed automation
- Preferred full integration process experience
- Necessary Skills
- Excellent communication skills w/ cross functional teams
- Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies in a fast paced environment
- PLC programming (AB, Omron, Beckhoff)
- Vision Programming (Cognex, Keyence)
- Ability to create/read/maintain electrical prints
- Ability to manage projects and vendors
- Technical mindset to find true root causes and corrective actions
- Ability to run cost-benefit analysis
- Strong skills of electro-mechanical systems
- Desired Skills
- Knowledge of machining and fabrication practices (milling, drilling, welding, etc.)
- Knowledge of continuous motion automation machines
- Ability to analyze and clean databases via Excel
- High spped automation servicing
- Knowledge of injection molding process
- Necessary Skills
- Ability to work alone with minimal direct supervision.
- Ability to work from mechanical prints and electrical schematics.
- Ability to collaborate with associates from all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in machining and fabrication, including proficiency in MIG and TIG welding and drill press, lathe, milling machine, and surface grinder operation.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Basic computer operation skills with current software operating systems and programs.
- Good attendance record and no more than 12 points, under no discipline.
