Long-Term Contract (1+ Years)

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Health Nurse to support a major oil and gas company's onsite medical and safety operations in Pasadena, Texas. This is a long-term contract position (1+ years) offering stability and the opportunity to work within a large-scale industrial environment. The nurse will play a key role in managing employee health, supporting medical compliance, and partnering with safety and HR teams to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:



  • Provide direct medical care and first aid to employees for work-related injuries, illnesses, and emergencies.
  • Conduct occupational health screenings, physicals, and medical surveillance programs per OSHA and company requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee medical records using electronic health systems.
  • Collaborate with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) personnel to identify health risks and implement preventive programs.
  • Manage case files, return-to-work evaluations, and fitness-for-duty assessments.
  • Deliver workforce health education, wellness initiatives, and safety training sessions.
  • Respond to medical incidents on-site and coordinate care with local emergency services when necessary.
  • Support industrial hygiene initiatives and assist with medical compliance audits.
  • Ensure all activities align with regulatory and corporate occupational health standards.
  • Serve as the primary health resource for employees and management at the Pasadena site.


Qualifications:



  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas (required).
  • Minimum 3-5 years of nursing experience, with a background in occupational, emergency, or industrial settings preferred.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and workplace health and safety regulations.
  • Strong assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced industrial environment.


Preferred Experience:



  • Previous work in oil and gas, refinery, or heavy industrial environments.
  • Experience managing worker's compensation cases and coordinating medical surveillance programs.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems and occupational health documentation platforms.


Schedule:



  • Full-time, on-site role based in Pasadena, Texas.
  • Standard weekday schedule 7am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday with flexibility for occasional emergency response coverage.
  • Long-term contract - minimum 1-year commitment with potential for renewal or extension.
