Geologist I

RK&K is seeking a Geologist to join our Geotech Team in Raleigh, NC. As a Geologist at RK&K you will have the opportunity to work across disciplines to prepare plans and reports related to a variety of geotechnical projects for variety of clients in the transportation and municipal sectors. You will supervise field investigations and prepare geotechnical subsurface inventories.

Essential Function

• Supervise subsurface investigations.
• Prepare gINT boring logs.
• Assist in the development of the geotechnical portion of proposals and subsurface exploration programs.
• Aid in the preparation of bridges, roadways, and retaining wall reports.

Required Skills and Experience

• BS degree in Geology
• Geologist-in-Training (GIT) license or ability to obtain
• 0 - 5 years of Geotechnical experience
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Knowledge of MicroStation
• Understanding of the following: gINT, ArcGIS

Preferred Skills and Experience

• MS or advanced degree in Geology
• NCDOT experience
• Open Roads and Open Grounds experience
