We're seeking a Senior Director, Auditor Development, Engagement, and Culture based in New York. In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways: Auditor Development:
- In partnership with the CAE and IA Leadership Team, define, implement, and maintain a forward-looking competency model for all roles within the function. This model will be dynamic, incorporating emerging skills required to audit complex areas such as artificial intelligence governance, cybersecurity operations, digital assets, and climate risk, while also emphasizing "soft" skills like strategic influencing, critical thinking, and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead a continuous, data-driven skills gap analysis across the global IA team to identify current and future talent needs. This analysis will serve as the foundational input for all talent acquisition, development, and deployment strategies, ensuring resources are aligned with the function's strategic priorities.
- Serve as a key thought leader for the function on talent trends, benchmarking the function's capabilities against industry peers and best-in-class professional services organizations to ensure a competitive talent advantage.
- Support enablement of a transparent, multi-track career framework that provides clear and compelling progression opportunities for all employees including support of Audit's Early Talent Program. This will include distinct paths for technical subject matter experts, audit management leaders, and participants in rotational programs designed to accelerate development for future enterprise leadership roles.
- Partnering with Talent Management, curate and oversee a comprehensive and effective global learning and development curriculum. This will involve a blended approach that combines internally delivered, expert-led training on IA methodology and firm-specific risks with access to premier external certifications (e.g., CIA, CISA, and specialized technical certifications) and personalized online learning platforms like Coursera or LinkedIn Learning.
- Oversee and expand practical, experience-based development programs to accelerate learning and build cross-functional understanding. These will include a structured mentorship program (offering both traditional and "flash" mentoring for specific skill transfer), formal job shadowing opportunities in other parts of the bank, and strategic rotational assignments that provide high-potential individuals with broad exposure to the business.
Strategic Communications and Branding:
- Support the CAE and the IA Leadership Team in the development and managing a strategic internal communications plan for the IA function in close collaboration with the Corporate Communications Team. This plan will ensure consistent messaging around the function's vision, strategy, and priorities; celebrate team and individual successes; and reinforce cultural values through various channels, including town halls, leadership and management team meetings, newsletters, and leadership messages both to internal and business stakeholders.
- In close collaboration with the enterprise People Team and Corporate Communications, develop and communicate the value proposition of a career in Internal Audit. This involves crafting a compelling narrative that highlights the function's strategic importance, innovative work, and career development opportunities to attract top-tier talent from both internal mobility channels and the external market.
Function-wide Initiative and Project Coordination:
- Support project management for large function-wide initiatives and projects to enable strong PMO practices, elevated governance, and increased visibility of project execution and potential risks.
- Maintain overall inventory of key projects and initiatives which comprise IA's strategic plan and supporting priorities including standardized approaches for management, tracking, and monitoring.
Culture and Engagement Initiatives:
- Partnering with the function's Employee Advisory Board (EAB), develop and execute an annual, data-driven employee engagement strategy. This will involve partnering with the enterprise People Team in conducting deep-dive analysis of IA-specific results and leading the implementation of targeted action plans through an employee engagement committee.
- Implement and manage a robust recognition program that celebrates both outstanding performance and behaviors that exemplify the function's values. This will include a mix of formal awards, informal "spot" recognition, and a structured peer-to-peer recognition platform to foster a culture of appreciation.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience required. Degree in accounting, finance, or relevant specialty preferred. MBA, CPA, CFA or related certifications preferred.
- 15+ years of total work experience, with 5-7 years of management experience, preferred. Prior experience in a mid to high level managerial role in Audit preferred.
- Additional core skill requirements include understanding of the applied and interpretation of analytics results for Audit, critical thinking and problem solving.
