JOB SUMMARY


  • Provides overall administrative and technical management on assigned signal, lighting, and intelligent transportation system projects, from bid preparation through final client acceptance.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of construction management required (equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience are also acceptable).
  • 3+ years in Traffic Signals, Lighting, and Intelligent Transportation System projects required.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods, codes); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety is required.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of various Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.


OTHER REQUIREMENTS


  • Must have a safe driving record and a valid driver's license according to legal requirements.


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS


  • Electrical Project Management preferred.
  • IMSA level 1 or 2 certifications helpful.
  • PMP Certification.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Provide initial client contact to assess the scope of work and resources required to complete the project successfully.


  • Prepare a complete project estimate (with training and guidance) for the selected project with a detailed review of proposal specifications, drawings, takeoff information, material / equipment requirements, and contracting.
  • Supervise total construction effort to ensure the project is constructed in accordance with design, codes & standards, budget, and schedule. This includes interfacing with client representatives, other contractors, etc.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, and may provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff in accounting, purchasing, etc.).
  • Investigate any situations with potential project impacts, mitigate wherever possible, and initiate correcting actions as necessary.
  • Supervise craft employees by working closely with the on-site Foreman and Superintendent.
  • Subcontract and supervise the work of sub-contractors as required by the contract.
  • Provide technical assistance (i.e., interpretations of drawings and recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required).
  • Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and processing of change orders.
  • Responsible for the productivity of crafts, efficient use of material and equipment, and contractual performance/compliance with the project.
  • Track the progress of craft and subcontractors to ensure the project stays on schedule.
  • Develop and execute a recovery plan if the schedule is negatively affected.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all project documentation, including but not limited to correspondence, billing, purchase orders, change orders, submittals, schedules, etc.
  • Ensure company's safety initiatives are followed by all on-site employees. Investigate, report, and correct any safety-related incidents.
  • Obtain, as necessary, all permits, licenses, titles, safety checks, etc. as required by corporate policy, state or federal regulations or client requirements.
  • May provide day-to-day direction of onsite administrative staff or other Project Manager / Estimators.
  • Review department estimates for contract requirements, specifications, compliance, etc, prior to being sent to Customer(s).
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
  • This position is required to drive various vehicles, safely.



Salary is negotiable based on experience and education.
