This position is Remote in MST or CST Time Zones, OR in one (1) of the following states: WA, OR, NV, MI, IN, OH, WV, PA, VT, ME, NH, MA, RI, CT, NJ, DE, MD, DC, VA, NC, SC, GA, or FL. You will have the flexibility to work remotely* as you take on some tough challenges.

This position is full time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 7:00 am - 3:30 pm PST (flexible). It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.

We offer weeks of on-the-job training. The hours of the training will be aligned with your schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Supporting care advocates with their day-to-day tasks and activities.
  • Audit and review customer service calls to ensure quality, compliance, and adherence to company standards.
  • Manage and resolve escalated issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Provide training, coaching, and performance feedback to staff to ensure high-quality service and compliance.
  • Communicates effectively and in a professional manner.
  • Processes all work-related responsibilities in an efficient, timely and accurate manner.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and enhance efficiency across daily operations.
  • Serve as a liaison between the Patient Financial Services team and other departments
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be at least 18 years of age OR older
  • 1+ years of experience working with patient financials, including handling billing disputes, processing payments, and applying charity care policies.
  • 1+ years of experience in a call center answering customer service inquiries regarding healthcare
  • Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to navigate and learn new and complex computer system applications
  • Ability to work 07:00AM- 03:30pm PST, Monday through Friday

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using EPIC

Telecommuting Requirements:

  • Reside within the Mountain or Central Time Zones, OR in one (1) of the following states: WA, OR, NV, MI, IN, OH, WV, PA, VT, ME, NH, MA, RI, CT, NJ, DE, MD, DC, VA, NC, SC, GA, or FL
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $20.00 - $35.72 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
