The main campus is located in the historic village of Kingston, and the Bay Campus is located in Narragansett. Both campuses are near major beaches in a beautiful coastal community. URI is just 30 minutes from Providence, RI and within easy reach of Newport, Boston, and New York City. ___________________________________________________________________________________________________ POSITION SUMMARY: The Temporary Program & Event Assistant will provide direct support to the Director of the Gender and Sexuality Center in the planning and execution of events, programs, and outreach efforts. This role will focus on coordinating event logistics, creating promotional materials, and assisting with communication and engagement strategies. Duties and Responsibilities: KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the coordination and execution of Center programs and events. Create flyers, attendance sheets, and other program-related documents. Support event promotion by posting to social media platforms and the university's internal posting system. Manage pre-event and post-event logistics, including room setup, supplies, attendance tracking, and follow-up communications. Maintain records of programs, attendance, and outreach efforts. Provide on-site support during events as needed. Assist with additional programmatic and event-related tasks as assigned. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Hours for this position are flexible and may require some availability for evenings/weekends. Perform other duties as assigned. LICENSES, TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT: Personal computers and printers; word processing, spreadsheet and database software.
