Overview

In this role, you will leverage the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies using innovative project management methods, including model data extraction for quantity takeoffs and estimating purposes, constructability reviews, assist with design coordination using automated clash detection methods, and construction sequencing animations for pre-construction planning. Experience within Revit and/or Navisworks is desired.

Job Responsibilities:

    Leverage the use of Building Information Modeling (BIM) technologies to support project teams to pursue, design, manage, and execute AEC (Architecture, Engineering and Construction) projects
  • Utilize Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) workflows for project coordination, schedule, simulations, animation, quantity surveying and other innovative technical skillsets
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and trades to ensure digital models align with field conditions
  • Track submittals and ensure model compliance for BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordination
  • Prepare Requests for Information ("RFI's") and maintain RFI logs related to Coordination Items
  • Utilize Drones for remote surveying, site mapping and capturing weekly progress photos and videos
  • Provide model-based layout coordinates to field surveying teams onsite for layout of self-perform concrete, steel, utilities, and other systems
  • Develop and review integrated coordination models using Navisworks software and create clash detection reports based on analysis of multiple design disciplines and trade subcontractor 3D models
  • Create 4D/5D Construction Simulations using Twinmotion or Lumion for client proposals and detailed construction sequencing
  • Develop Dynamo scripts for reducing repetitive workloads and automating project workflows
  • Convert 2D drawings into 3D Revit models, including, creation of custom parametric Revit families
  • Process, register, and publish Laser Scan Point Cloud Data for project coordination
  • Leverage support from other VDC Specialist I and VDC Specialist II at project level, review work product for standards and accuracy, and incorporate into deliverables
  • Maintain service standards as designated lead of certain services for overall group
  • Support innovation through research and testing new technologies.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Technology

  • One (1) year of experience in tracking submittals and ensuring model compliance for BIM (Building Information Modeling) Coordination within the AEC industry

  • Experience developing and maintaining integrated project coordination models using Navisworks software and creating clash detection reports based on analysis of multiple design disciplines and trade subcontractor 3D models.

  • Experience creating and reviewing 4D/5D Construction Simulations using Twinmotion or Lumion for client proposals and detailed construction sequencing

  • Converting 2D drawings into to 3D Revit models, including, creation of custom parametric Revit families

  • Experience developing Dynamo scripts for reducing repetitive workloads and automating project workflows

  • Experience processing, registering, and publishing Laser Scan Point Cloud Data for project coordination

  • Understanding of different needs of the delivery team (architects, engineers, estimators, project managers, and field staff)
  • Proficiency with the following applications (or similar) is preferred: Autodesk Revit, Autodesk Navisworks, AutoCAD

Environmental Factors and/or Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, this position is required to have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to visit other locations; and the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, and arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The associate frequently is required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
