We are seeking a Contracts Manager in Huntsville, AL.
A day in the life of a Contracts Manager:
Working with limited supervision, is responsible for contract activity with moderate to high risk to the business unit. Contract activity is considered non-routine and may require development of specialized contract vehicles and techniques to accomplish business goals and objectives. Generally, involves independent judgment and analysis of significant issue identification and resolution. Responsible for recommending contract strategy and drives implementation of strategic contract opportunities with significant impact to the corporation. Provides contractual guidance in implementation, execution and administration. Participates in development of business alliance and partnering, source selection procedures and process, and make or buy determinations. May act as program or project manager. May mentor less-experienced contract professionals. Will perform other reasonable and related duties.

This job is for you if you can perform these Primary responsibilities:
  • Provide contracts guidance for assigned Programs to support our clients and serve as an Advisor to Management and Executive Management on Government contracting issues
  • Works with limited supervision to manage/execute high level of proposal activity, contract administration and procurement activity with high risk and high visibility, including interface with program managers, clients, suppliers, contractors, teaming partners, and internal staff.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) skills are required as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and competing deadline environment
  • Provides cradle-to-grave contract support, including all pre-contract activity - NDAs, TAs, PIAs, MOUs, Reps and Certs, monitoring registrations, and preparing solicitation documentation (pre and post award), reviewing proposals for compliance, and formulating negotiating positions.
  • Personally manage a portfolio of contracts and agreements and analyzes project requirement(s) and develops solutions to company needs. Creates/Maintains Contract file folders that include solicitation documentation and submitted proposals, win/loss information, contract correspondence and, once awarded, the internal review and approval of contract changes, and close-out documentation.
  • Participates in the development of bid strategies and coordinate efforts to produce winning proposals and approved strategies.
  • Provides services to coordinate and support development of customer needs statements, Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Quotes (RFQ). Ensures cost proposals are prepared in accordance to company policies and procedures and are compliant with applicable government regulations.
  • Evaluates compliance of policies, practices, and standards to meet business objectives and remain within legal requirements.
  • Provide contract-related issue resolution, both internally and externally.
  • Participate, coordinate, and assist with DCAA and DCMA audits.
  • Recommend and assist with policy and procedure definition and development
  • Possess an advanced understanding of business relationships and contract structures while demonstrating an exemplary level of business acumen; Serves as acquisition business advisors to senior leadership, contracting officers, program managers, and other stakeholders.
  • Must be able to differentiate between routine and non-routine contract elements and terms and be able to make recommended solutions.
What we are expecting from you (i.e. the qualifications you must have):
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience within the field in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and/or equivalent professional certification preferred
  • 8-10 years of professional experience in US Federal Government Contracts and/or subcontracts or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop advanced concepts and solutions to unusual problems that involve a high degree of ingenuity, creativity and innovation
  • Experience in all aspects of the contract life cycle including proposals, administration, and close-out for various contract types, including fixed price, cost reimbursement, labor hour and time and materials as well as experience with contract structure, pricing strategies, policy and procedure and compliance principles.
  • Proficient and experienced in the FAR and DFARS, Foreign Military Sales (FMS), TINA, CAS, and software data rights clauses
  • Skilled in the use of MS Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel, as well as the use of Adobe Acrobat Pro
Required Level of Security Clearance: U.S. Citizen / Secret level Security Clearance required
Expected Travel: Some travel required (approximately 10%)
