JOB SUMMARY:

The IHSS program supports families referred from the Winnebago County Human Services Department. As the Safety Services and Supervised Visitation Worker, you will maintain safety in homes where children are at-risk for removal due to abuse and/or neglect concerns; support families through reunification; and arrange and transport supervised visitation to children currently placed in out-of-home care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SAFETY SERVICES AND SUPERVISED VISITATION WORKER:

• Evaluate youth and families for treatment needs and refer to appropriate resources.
• Analyze client situations and capabilities to determine services required to control safety threats.
• Conduct face-to-face contact with families to ensure safety and cooperation with safety plans.
• Provide parenting education, support, and advocacy to program clientele through individual, family, and/or group work.
• Utilize knowledge of child development to conduct safe, supervised visits with family members. Visits must be positive and interactive between caregiver/child.
• Monitor child/family interaction during supervised visitation.
• Safely transport clients as needed.
• Exercise judgment to intervene as an advocate for clients in emergency and crisis situations.
• Act as a resource to evaluate and determine necessary responses in de-escalating crisis situations with youth and families.

LOCATION: Oshkosh, WI. Local travel is required throughout the Winnebago County area to complete client visits within the home, with mileage reimbursement.

SCHEDULE: Full-time 40 hours per week Sunday-Thursday

SALARY: $21.00 per hour

REQUIREMENTS:

• Must have reliable transportation on a daily basis, a valid driver's license, and automobile insurance.
• Must have a Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Criminal Justice, or related.
• One year of experience working with at-risk youth and families is preferred.
