IT QA Analyst Overview:

The IT QA Analyst plays a key role in ensuring the reliability, functionality, and performance of technology solutions within the organization. This position focuses on validating end user applications and interfaces as well as distributed, event-driven systems built across Azure and AWS. This position is responsible for designing and executing test plans for user applications and interfaces, microservices, APIs, and integrations between internal and third-party systems as well as collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality IT products, services and ensuring quality releases across cloud-based environments. The IT QA Analyst is expected to learn the business and technical components of an application, create testing artifacts and execute all required testing activities in accordance with existing testing standards.

  • Develop, document and implement comprehensive test plans, test cases, test scripts and other test artifacts (i.e. test data) for software applications and IT systems
  • Identify test requirements from technical specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan
  • Execute manual and automated testing (as applicable) to verify that systems meet business requirements and technical specifications
  • Identify, document, and track defects and inconsistencies; work closely with development teams to resolve issues
  • Collaborate with business analysts, developers, and other stakeholders to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage
  • Lead test case reviews with cross-functional team members
  • Participate in reviews of requirements, design, and code to provide feedback and ensure quality standards are maintained
  • Monitor and report on test progress, results, and overall system quality to IT leadership and project teams
  • Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements and are also in compliance with organizational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Continuously improve the testing processes and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
  • Collaborate with the Test Automation Engineer to identify test automation opportunities, ensuring alignment with overall quality assurance strategies and continuous improvement initiatives


Required Qualifications:



  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
  • 2+ years of QA experience in end user applications and interfaces, microservices or distributed systems
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), testing methodologies, and QA best practices
  • Hands-on API testing (Postman, Insomnia, etc.)
  • Experience in Saas, on-prem, Azure and/or AWS environments, including navigating resource groups, logs, etc.
  • Working knowledge of SQL and JSON, and the ability to validate payload transformations
  • Experience with manual testing tools
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills and a self-motivated attitude, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and engage on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools and technologies to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, assist in problem-solving and decision-making, or drive business outcomes
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite


Preferred Qualification:



  • Experience with automated testing tools (e.g. Selenium, JIRA, TestRail)
  • Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (App insights, Cloudwatch) for test validation
  • Exposure to running automated test suites and analyzing automation results
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies
  • Previous experience in the travel or aviation industry


Compensation:

Range $75,000 to $95,000
