*Description*
The Fiber Optic Cable Tester is responsible for testing existing fiber optic cables in support of the Air Force Base Infrastructure Modernization Project. This role requires specialized knowledge in fiber optics, attention to detail, and the ability to work with testing equipment to provide accurate cable test results of existing fiber plants. Key Responsibilities: *Testing and Certification: oPerform testing on fiber optic cables using equipment such as OTDR, and Power Meters. oCertify the integrity and performance of fiber optic installations according to industry standards. oMust be proficient with Fluke Versiv Power Meter and OTDR test gear. *Documentation: oMaintain accurate records of test results, including test data reports and certification documentation. oProvide Progress Reports and Test Documentation to the Site Lead daily. Qualifications: *Education and Certification: oHigh school diploma or equivalent. oCertification in Fiber Optic Testing and/or Fiber Optic Technician certification is preferred. *Experience: oMinimum of 2-3 years of experience in fiber optic splicing and testing. oExperience with OTDR testing, power meter testing, and light source testing. *Skills: oProficiency in using fiber optic testing equipment and tools. oStrong understanding of fiber optic cable types, connectors, and standards. oAbility to read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics. oExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. oStrong analytical skills for data interpretation and reporting. oAdherence to safety standards and protocols is mandatory. oEffective communication skills. oAbility to work independently and in a team environment. oStrong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. *Skills* fluke versiv, otdr, Secret Clearance *Top Skills Details* fluke versiv,otdr,Secret Clearance *Additional Skills & Qualifications* Must be willing and able to travel for 3-5 months. *Experience Level* Intermediate Level *Pay and Benefits* The pay range for this position is $43.21 - $43.21/hr.
