The SEED Day Camp Program Director supports the Summer Experience Department by overseeing the daily operations, organization, and logistics of SEED Day Camp. Reporting directly to the Summer Experience Director, this role ensures a safe, engaging, and Christ-centered camp environment where campers thrive through active learning and play. The Program Director manages staff, coordinates activities, and communicates effectively with parents, guardians, and the Summer Experience leadership team.

Qualifications:



  • Experience teaching or managing children in an educational or camp setting
  • Passion for Christian education and the mission of Lipscomb Academy
  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities and work collaboratively with staff
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain prior to camp)


Team Structure and Commitment:



  • This position is part of a two-person leadership team responsible for managing the SEED Day Camp. Each Program Director must be present at least 6 of the 8 weeks of Summer Experience (or 7 of 9 weeks in longer summers). Partners may not take the same week off, ensuring leadership coverage throughout the summer.


Responsibilities:



  • Plan, organize, and oversee daily SEED Day Camp activities and schedules
  • Supervise and support camp staff, ensuring a positive and professional team environment
  • Maintain adherence to all Lipscomb Academy and state policies, safety rules, and emergency procedures
  • Communicate clearly with parents and guardians regarding camper experiences
  • Oversee camper behavior, promote positive engagement, and enforce camp expectations
  • Facilitate daily or weekly staff meetings and planning sessions
  • Collaborate with the Summer Experience Director on logistics, supplies, and documentation
  • Handle emergencies and ensure camper safety in coordination with the Summer Experience Director
  • Assist in post-camp evaluations and provide input for program improvement
