Position Summary

Business Analysts supporting Electric Transmission Planning are responsible for research, data analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to support business decision-making, strategy, and operations. They may also be involved in business process improvement, quality control, special projects, and other initiatives.

* This hybrid position works from your remote office and your assigned location based on business needs. The headquarters' location is flexible and within the PG&E service territory. This position is required to work from a PG&E office 3 days/week.

PG&E is providing the salary range that the company, in good faith, believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors. This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $114,000
Bay Area Mid-Point: $148,000
Bay Area Maximum: $182,000

California Minimum: $108,000
California Mid-Point: $141,000
California Maximum: $173,000

Responsibilities typically include many or all the following:
* Data Analysis: Analysis of LiDAR and vegetation management data. Develop and write code to maintain data models for business purposes.
* Metrics and Reporting: Develops and tracks WMP (Wildfire Mitigation Plan) metrics. Develops and maintains standard, custom, and ad-hoc reports.
* Budgeting & Forecasting: Develops or works with budgets and forecasts.
* Research: Research best practices; develop internal and external benchmarks supporting business decisions.
* Quality Assurance & Business Process Improvement: This position may perform quality assurance and business process improvement activities in support of the business. Activities may include developing, managing, or coordinating performance or quality assessment, business process re-engineering, change management, communication, and training.
* Project Management: Lead projects, determining scope, budget, timeframes, forming teams, assigning tasks, managing resources, responding to periodic audits and requests for data.

Job Responsibilities

* Performs analysis and QA on LiDAR data through Python coding or other coding programs on highly complex data models that have cross-functional impact.
* Applies advanced technical knowledge to broad-ranging issues.
* Develop innovative data solutions to address complex business issues. Presents findings and proposed recommendations to leaders.
* Develop business cases in support of strategy or change initiatives.
* Develop new or revise existing data analysis to predict business outcomes by selecting from various complex variables.
* Manages cross-functional projects or initiatives.
* Provides direction and coaching to other Business Analysts.

Qualifications

Minimum:

* A Bachelor of Science in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or related discipline or equivalent work experience required
* Six years of related work experience

Desired:

* MBA or graduate degree
* Knowledge of PG&E's Legacy Backoffice, PG&E's Transmission System and LiDAR as it is used in Transmission Vegetation management.
* Proficiency in Python Code Writing, analytical tools, Power BI creation/utilization, or similar software, Microsoft Office, Excel, SQL Server.
* Strong presentation and communication skills to deliver findings and recommendations to various levels of management.
* Extensive knowledge of different analytical methods, approaches, and tactics
* Broad expertise in what-if modeling analysis, concepts, methods and techniques, and analysis of how different factors affect business outcomes
* Creative problem-solving skills to develop solutions
* Strong analytical and writing skills to create compelling business cases based on complex business environments and inputs
* Influence skills to effectively gain buy-in from leaders inside and outside the department. Knowledge and understanding of key drivers affecting business results
* Project management skills to lead large and complex projects working with cross-functional teams
* Organizational, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
