Duties & Responsibilities
  • Carry out the goals of Arizona Project WET by supporting the daily operations and coordination of all APW educational engagement including, but not limited to, Arizona Water Festivals. Assist with marketing, scheduling, and delivery of APW programming. Prepare materials and maintain supplies, ensure timely set-up and breakdown for events and presentations, and anticipate program needs. Remain flexible while following SOPs. Support and sustain a culture of Integrity, Compassion, Exploration, Inclusion, and Determination.
  • Enthusiastically deliver APW programming with exceptional skill: meaningfully connect content to participant and participant to action, ensuring attainment of measurable outcomes. Build rapport with students, teachers, community volunteers, and the APW team to deliver quality programming, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Ensure that program objectives and outcomes are met in accordance with established priorities, timeframes, SOP's, and other specifications.
  • Utilize Microsoft Outlook software to enhance the organization, accessibility, and transparency of materials across the team.
  • Capture participation data for reporting.
  • This position reports to the Program Supervisor and is a participating member of the dynamic, cooperative, statewide APW team. This position is posted in Tucson (Pima County) but supports/delivers out-of-county programming - necessitating intermittent state-wide travel throughout the year.
  • Connect, collaborate, and maintain relationships with community partners, K-12 personnel and governmental, academic, and corporate volunteers, to promote U of A water education initiatives and APW programs.
  • Develop, compile, and inform communications and promotional literature for distribution such as newsletters, brochures, or flyers, coordinating the process from development through distribution.
  • Members of the APW Team are expected to offer/provide technical advice, insights into best practices, creative problem-solving, and reflection on performance.
  • The Specialist is a collaborative colleague, supporting the whole team: volunteers, other APW Outreach Specialists, APW Outreach Coordinators, Program Specialist, Program Supervisor, and Program Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA)

  • Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance projects, and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, writing, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively toward set objectives.
  • Ability to drive a motor pool truck while pulling a 14' cargo trailer.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through experience required.
  • 1 year of relevant work experience required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to drive, including current vehicle insurance, according to the University Fleet Safety Policy.
Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in educational engagement.
  • Experience with marketing, scheduling, and delivery of programming.
