Job Title: Quality Inspector
Shift: 1 st shift - 7:00am - 3:30pm M-F
Location: Richfield, WI
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $20.00 - $25.00/hour
Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector to support our production team by ensuring that fabricated and welded components meet precise standards and customer specifications. This position is ideal for an experienced fabricator or welder who understands metal manufacturing processes and wants to apply that expertise in a quality-focused role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect fabricated and welded parts for dimensional accuracy, weld quality, alignment, finish, and overall compliance with prints and specifications.
  • Use measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, squares, and weld gauges.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work instructions.
  • Document inspection results, maintain quality records, and communicate findings clearly.
  • Collaborate with fabrication and welding teams to address issues and provide feedback for process improvements.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action activities when non-conformances occur.
  • Ensure compliance with internal quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to a culture of quality and accountability.
Qualifications
Required:
  • Strong punctuality and excellent attendance record
  • Previous experience in metal fabrication or welding (MIG/TIG preferred).
  • Strong understanding of metalworking processes and common weld standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Skilled in manual measurement using tape measures and gauges, with the ability to perform accurate fraction-to-decimal and decimal-to-fraction conversions.
  • Familiarity with commonly used measurement and inspection tools.
  • High attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate work.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
Preferred (not required):
  • Prior experience in quality inspection within fabrication or manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Experience working in a job shop environment or small to mid-sized manufacturing setting.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor throughout the day.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs when necessary.
  • Use of hands to handle tools, equipment, and small parts.
Work Environment
  • On-site role in a fabrication and machining environment.
  • Collaborative atmosphere with a focus on safety, teamwork, and craftsmanship.
