Who we are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Inventory Control Manager to be based out of Eugene, OR. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this person will be responsible for managing inventory through databases and maintain levels required daily to meet distribution demands. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 years of experience managing an inventory control program or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is a plus.

What you'll do:



  • Enter data for inventory transfers and cycle count adjustments into computer database
  • Purchase Order management for raw materials and compounds
  • Inventory reconciliations and adjustments for:

    • Daily cycle Counts
    • Month end Variance Review
    • Quality Hold Tracking


  • Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with manufacturing, quality, and shipping department staff
  • Receive and issue finished goods into computer database
  • Prepare reports for cycle counts
  • Participate in physical inventory (monthly and year-end) and adjust as necessary
  • Enter Blending Production
  • Manage raw material additives and resin purchases/inventories
  • Manage Grainger vending for all plant employee
  • Distribute monthly resin and impact modifier purchases
  • Update records of continuous improvement report
  • Process and assist with Sage, AS400 and ITAF Tickets (inventory systems)
  • Other duties as assigned



What you'll bring:



  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing an inventory control program or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High school diploma required
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, management, engineering, or industrial technology preferred
  • Knowledge of Inventory Control systems, i.e., Sage or JDE
  • Experience and knowledge of Lean Daily Management principles preferred
  • Effective leadership skills and problem-solving techniques is a must
  • Attention to detail, accuracy, time management and organization
  • Teamwork and project management skills, self-driven and accountable

Within 3 months, you'll:



  • Understand company culture and the Atkore Business System (ABS)
  • Become familiar with each product line that is manufactured at the Eugene, OR facility



Within 6 months, you'll:



  • Understand and utilize daily the internal financial / inventory system used for raw material and finished goods
  • Have gained increased knowledge about general processes within the facility; how different departments interact and the workflow within each of them, how it relates to inventory
  • Establish strong working relationships with all vendor contacts


Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Become the facility subject matter expert for estimating and forecasting raw materials usage (reporting weekly, monthly& annually)
  • Have learned how to build purchasing cycles of raw materials to maintain desirable inventory levels (based on daily scheduling variances and product line changes)

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $88,400 - $121,550. Placement in the range depends on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
