Job Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY

This role is responsible for leading the digital and technology organization who supports all corporate functions, including finance, procurement, sales operations, communications, marketing, human resources, legal, facilities, quality, and compliance. Syneos Health Technology Solutions operates a scaled agile, product-centric operating model. The leader will directly lead and develop product managers, designers, business analysts, solution architects, and data and AI resources and leverage capabilities delivered by horizontal capabilities including enterprise data, engineering, core technology, and security. The leader will partner closely with each function and 3rd parties who provide technology application management services to ensure the most efficient and effective technology operating model.

We are looking for an AI-experienced leader to accelerate our AI implementation across the corporate functions, partnering to identify the use cases that matter most which will deliver value including prevention of issues, prediction capabilities, and performance through automation. The leader will be a partner for leading through change, helping our organization adopt new ways of working as new AI agentic systems come online.

The portfolio of solutions including SaaS products as well as custom built applications, that are best in class capabilities enabling both clinical research and commercial services. Our work supports getting meaningful new medicines to patients faster, with greater positive impact.

The VP of Corporate Technology is accountable for leading the technology roadmap and maintaining multiyear forecasts in capital investment. This pivotal role, as part of product lifecycle management, will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure expectations are met with product delivery tied to results and long-term value realization

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategic Leadership: Develops and communicates a clear technology strategy for each corporate function considering user experience, market trends, customer needs and business objectives. Partners with key business leaders to assess needs and solutions for the domain. Continually assessing product fit, industry trends, competitive landscape and price. Anticipates opportunities and potential threats. Acts as an advisor to the business to support needs and/or product enhancements including innovation with data-driven insights.

  • Product Management: Manages and supports product/application team that evaluates current offerings, researches the options to solve the ask (build, buy or license) and socializes the optimal approach with senior leadership with data-driven insights. Maintains multi-year roadmaps. Focused on infusing AI into applications and scale up.

  • Business Case Development: Using research and detailed analysis (e.g. process engineering, AI experimentation), makes an effective case with internal stakeholders for why an investment should be made for a new capability. Gathers stakeholder feedback, justifies "the why", explains the benefits and presents a solid business case for review and approval.

  • Strategic Communications: Translates our technology offerings and capabilities to the external senior customers and internal executive leaders. As a member of the CDIO office, will be a point of contact for bid defenses, capability presentations, and customer meetings representing digital capabilities at Syneos Health. Works to align digital and tech organization to business development requests for support.

  • Enterprise Applications, Data and Analytics, and AI: Oversees the management, integration, and utilization of enterprise applications including ERP (Oracle Fusion, Workday), and Sales Enablement (Salesforce), and data integration capability (Oracle Integration Cloud), and custom-built applications on Oracle Apex / PLSQL. Responsible for data integration and data science powering reporting and analytics across functions. Develop AI and agentic strategy for corporate functions.

  • Sales Enablement: Enables Syneos go-to-market teams processes end to end, from opportunity identification through to proposals and customer relationship management. Works with communications and the broader CDIO team to enable the sales organization with digital training to ensure readiness to adopt AI systems.

  • Technology Delivery and Performance: Accountable for effective management of products/applicaitons; works closely with CDIO LT and functional leaders (engineering, data science, master data management, marketing, compliance, governance and others) to understand timelines, priorities and trade-offs as necessary. Partners to remove barriers & mitigate risk to success as agreed with customers by rapidly addressing issues or roadblocks to reduce risk and value leakage to support full value throughout the product development lifecycle.

  • Team Leadership: Manages the department and global teams accountable for the delivery of the strategy & ability to meet customer needs while providing strong customer service both internally and externally. Responsibilities include line management, performance management, and professional development for those employees along with interviewing and onboarding new team members. Works with peers to assess cross-product synergy across domains. Ensure products work well together to fit enterprise needs. Manages 3rd parties who deliver both application development and maintenance services.

  • Thought Leadership: Be thought leader in their area of expertise; participate in industry meetings and conferences; be at the forefront of innovation. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards, maintaining integrity and security.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS (please indicate if 'preferred')

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Product Management, Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, Business); MS/MBA or advanced degree preferred.

  • Proven ability to implement digital operating models and product-centric technology organizations.

  • Strong understanding of product lifecycle management, ERP applications, and with a clinical trial and/or healthcare focus. Proven experience in product management with a track record of successfully leading technology product teams directly and in a matrix environment.

  • Experience working across multiple, senior stakeholders to deliver results while working with external customers. Experience managing high performing teams. Global experience is preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proactive, willing to bring the team together to foster a productive team dialogue, able to articulate product vision with ease.

  • Global leadership experience with a diverse focus, ability to work in a heavily matrixed environment while leading a high performing team.

  • Background in technology, data science and business management.

  • A deep knowledge of customers (e.g., Why do they use the product? What are their problems? What are the barriers to value?)

  • Intensely curious and self-driven

  • Ability to think holistically regarding business needs and align to value, active listener for declared and undeclared needs.

  • Strong business acumen; ability to lead through change and drive adoption.

  • Strong analytical, strategic vision and problem-solving abilities.

  • Adaptability and ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.

Salary Range:

$204,600.00 - $378,600.00

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
