Job Summary
The Emergency Department (ED) Nurse Educator serves as a role model, consultant, change agent and facilitator in assessing learning needs and in planning and implementing, and evaluating educational activities for the Emerson Hospital Emergency Department. Utilizing instructional techniques and adult & pediatric learning principles, this position develops and implements job aids, performance criteria, clinical competencies and interactive practical experiences to support staff development based on identified educational needs. The ED Nurse Educator reports to the Director of Emergency Services.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Graduate of a professional school of nursing which is an accredited program in Massachusetts.
Bachelor degree in nursing or related field preferred.
Masters degree in nursing, education or related field preferred.
Experience
Five or more years of clinical nursing experience, three of which include experience in an Emergency/Critical Care setting required.
Licensure and/or Certification
Currently licensed as a professional nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required.
BLS healthcare provider required.
ACLS and PALS required.
BLS instructor required within 6 months of hire.
ACLS and PALS instructor required within 6 months of hire.
Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) required within 1 year of hire.
Certified Trauma Nurse Coordinator (CTNC) preferred.
