Ingram Marine Group is hiring for a Port Mate in East Carondelet, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for supply receiving, inventory, distribution and dock and property maintenance.Must live in the East Carondelet, IL area.

What you will be doing:

  • Receive, maintain, communicate and distribute vessel supplies to company vessels and warehouse.
  • General upkeep, maintenance and organization of dock landing barges and crew boat.
  • Facility and Parking area maintenance/ upkeep for appearance and operation. Maintain the grass and fleeting areas
  • Assist with the Security for dock, office, company equipment, and vessel personnel parked vehicles.
  • Custom Fuel Service Support.
  • Maintain inventory of landing for restock. (Ex lock lines, appliances, extra supplies)
  • Maintain dewatering pump and hose inventory and condition
  • Vessel crew members support.
  • Oversees Fire Extinguisher Program for the facility
  • Oversee and participate in re-spudding of Fleet and dock barge when moved due to changing river conditions.
  • Ensure all vessels at dock and dock strings are secure.
  • Responsible for Housekeeping needs when they arise.
  • Inspection of dead men and shore wires and other fleet securement systems.
  • Support department activities with regular and prompt attendance.
  • Utilize Helm for Facility inspections, safety meetings and drills
Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • Ability to work 10-hour shifts; Monday - Friday schedule
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 0-1 years of experience required
  • Forklift certification or experience is preferred
  • Computer Skills/ Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, Helm, and Peoplesoft.
  • Must be able to work overtime
  • Ability to walk for extended periods of time
  • Able to bend, stoop and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to frequently lift, hold and carry equipment weighing up to 80 pounds
  • Able to safely enter and exit confined spaces, climb ladders up to 70 feet and negotiate uneven and moving surfaces
  • Able to board and ride in skiffs/crew boat in order to reach vessels
  • Able to hear, understand and communicate instructions in English, particularly in emergency situations
  • Able to work in extreme weather (i.e. heat, cold, snow)
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
