About the Role

Join our team as a Secretary where you'll serve as the organizational backbone of our Adult Rehabilitation Center's Command. This vital role combines administrative excellence, professional communication, and mission-driven work to support The Salvation Army's life-changing programs. You'll work directly with leadership to ensure smooth daily operations and provide exceptional support to staff, visitors, and the community we serve.

Classification: Full Time/Hourly

Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour/ Bi-weekly Pay

Work Hours: 8:00am-4:30pm- Monday-Friday (occasional evenings and Saturday hours may be needed)

Key Responsibilities



  • Manage office communications and processes, serving as the primary point of contact in the Administrator's absence
  • Provide exceptional support to visitors, staff, and community members with professionalism and warmth
  • Compose and prepare daily correspondence, prioritizing responses and maintaining professional communication standards
  • Answer calls, take messages, and route correspondence with impeccable customer service
  • Manage schedules, calendars, email, and meetings for assigned supervisor
  • Provide administrative support in an organized and timely manner
  • Maintain orderly and accurate filing systems with strict attention to confidentiality
  • Coordinate special projects and handle multiple priorities with excellent time management
  • Handle complaint calls professionally in supervisor's absence
  • Represent The Salvation Army at public and professional functions as assigned
  • Independently carry out assignments and instructions with minimal supervision


What You'll Need to Succeed

Education & Experience



  • Associate's degree or higher preferred
  • Three years' experience supporting an Executive or in a similar administrative role


Required Skills & Abilities



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
  • Strong research and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of office management procedures
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Outstanding prioritization and multitasking capabilities


Physical Requirements



  • Ability to sit for up to seven hours per day
  • Speaking, hearing, and vision ability
  • Excellent manual dexterity for office tasks


Working Conditions

Work is performed in a typical office environment. This is a full-time position that may occasionally require weekend and evening work. Travel is rarely needed but may be required at times.
