 The manufacturing engineer ensures the end product meets customer needs. This position is responsible for initiating and implementing technical improvements, preventing and resolving technical problems, and assessing the capabilities of the processes. The manufacturing engineer will provide all aspects of technical leadership in the improvement of manufacturing processes, manufacturing equipment efficiencies, and product quality. Reports to: Plant Technical Leader

 Delivery to Customer and Business 
 
        
 Understand and communicate customer expectations and Critical Product Characteristics to employees through effective use of process and product specifications, standard work, control plans, and routine reporting
 
        
 Partnering with our Product Technical Leaders to develop Product Specifications that are achievable and capable in the manufacturing environment.Developing and implementing procedures and systems to ensure products consistently meet or exceed customer expectationsSupporting trials for new and existing products to ensure they meet our customer's fitness for use Coordinates with upstream and downstream processes to meet production demands aligning people, raw material and machine capacities
 
 
 Process Performance 
 
        
 Support the TPM process through Daily Management and participating on AM area or Pillar Teams as required.Support plant maintenance and operations teams in system and equipment troubleshooting and in technology transferPerforms root cause analysis in partnership with key stakeholders to address quality issues, implementing sustainable corrective actions for process shifts or upsetsAnalyze product and process data to optimize performance. Identify and implement process improvements and best practices with the goals being enhanced safety, enhanced functionality, and improved efficiency.Identifying and requesting capital funding for equipment, modifications, etc.
 
 
 Leading and developing talent 
 
        
 Educate primary employees in the manufacturing process and process control proceduresEngages team members to collaboratively own the success of the business by contributing to continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, cost, productivity, etc.Provides candid feedback on expectations and performance to members of the team on a regular basis, and drives appropriate actions for further improvementRecognizes and rewards positive behaviors and contribution to critical plant performance metricsImplements and documents corrective action when performance issues occurEffectively communicates critical plant performance metrics to team members daily to ensure engagementMonitors and enforces all plant and corporate policies and procedures
 
 
 Leads Continuous Improvement Activities 
 
        
 Leverages standard work to minimize variation and wasteLeads Focused Improvement activities to improve process capability and efficiencies, reduce costs, and eliminate wastePartners with relevant stakeholders to optimize process and drive continuous improvement initiativesParticipates in and leads Kaizen and 5S events in various work areas throughout plant
 
 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
 
        
 Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
 
        
 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated experience in root cause analysisProven results in driving product and process improvement in the manufacturing environment
 
 
 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
 
 
        
 5 years' experience in continuous manufacturing preferredLeadership experience in a matrix environment
 
        
 Six Sigma Green Belt and/or Lean Manufacturing experienceProficient in Microsoft Office products
